How it works
- 1Turn on Developer mode: in ChatGPT open Settings → Connectors → Advanced and toggle it on. ChatGPT keeps custom MCP connectors behind Developer mode, available on its paid plans.
- 2In Connectors, add a custom connector. Name it Salesgear and enter the MCP URL:
mcp.salesgear.io/mcp - 3When prompted to authorize, paste your API key. Find it in your Salesgear profile settings. Your data and permissions carry over.

Do I need to code?
No coding, but ChatGPT does put custom MCP connectors behind Developer mode. Turn it on in Settings then Connectors then Advanced, add mcp.salesgear.io/mcp, paste your API key, and start asking.
Which ChatGPT plans work, and is any setup different from Claude?
Custom MCP connectors run through ChatGPT's Developer mode, available on its paid plans (Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise, and Edu). Unlike Claude's one-time connector, ChatGPT connectors are enabled per conversation, and because Developer mode is a newer feature the exact menu path can shift as ChatGPT updates it.
How do I enable the Salesgear MCP?
MCP is available on most Salesgear plans. If the connector will not authorize, or you do not see MCP on your account, email support@salesgear.io and the team will enable it for you.
